In 2007, the WANTZ Committee raised funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Queensland.

ABOUT MS SOCIETY OF QUEENSLAND:

The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Queensland is a leading not-for-profit organisation aiming to enhance the quality of life of people with MS and reduce the impact of MS on the families and carers of those with multiple sclerosis. Its mission is to promote research to cure MS and provide equitable, high quality specialised services for the benefit of people with Multiple Sclerosis.

A huge thank you to all our Sponsors, from the Platinum Sponsor, Qld Government, who contributed towards the Lite Gait System, down to the smallest donations, all of which are received with the utmost gratitude.

The Lite Gait System is an assisted walking system that allows people with MS to semi-weight bear, and in so doing, enables them to rewalk again. This system also improves the cardio-vascular fitness and endurance for the MS sufferer and it does all the work that a walking frame, with one physiotherapist and two to three assistants can do. It also decreases the effort of the client to weight bear through his or her arms. This system will have a profound effect on the mobility and physical well-being of many people with MS.
A very special thank you also to the many companies and individuals who very generously contributed incredible prizes for our annual Auction and also to our annual Raffle, both held during the annual WANTZ dinner.

ANNUAL DINNER:

The culmination of the WANTZ Committee's fundraising was a spectacular dinner at Restaurant 'TWO', on Saturday 1 September 2007 on the night of Brisbane's Riverfire. Guests included members of Brisbane's medical, legal, banking, government and business communities. Once again Qld Opera entertained guests during the night with their amazing repertoire of songs.
