2008 In 2008 the WANTZ Committee was proud to be associated with the following two organizations: CHI.L.D. - The Association for Childhood Language and Related Disorders; and CHI.L.D. was established in 1976 to assist and support children and families affected by serious childhood language and related disorders. Its mission is to support these children and young people to achieve their educational and personal potential. A.E.I.O.U. is a not-for-profit charitable organisation, dedicated to providing a professional full-time early intervention educational program of the highest quality for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs). The first centre opened with 12 children in Moorooka in February 2005. Its mission is to provide a placement to every child with ASD, from the time of diagnosis, to facilitate their transition to mainstream education, and to continue to support the child and their family through the child's schooling years. AEIOU also aims to raise awareness and support of children with autism. WANTZ List: The following was the list of equipment urgently required:CHI.L.D.:

THANK YOU: A very big thank you to all the wonderful Sponsors and Donors whose generosity helped with our fundraising to buy these urgently required items of equipment. The amount of $121,857.00 was successfully raised. The culmination of the WANTZ Committee's fundraising in 2008 was a spectacular dinner at Restaurant 'TWO', arguably Brisbane's best restaurant, on the night of Brisbane's Riverfire, Saturday 30 August 2008. Guests included members of Brisbane's medical, legal, banking, government and business communities. |
